What else would you do with 15 million ice cream sticks?

Sadly, we'll never know, now that the post has been removed from the Reuters website. That's 20547 fudgsicles, or 10273 popsicles per day! Now, divided by 3 people (McDonald and 2 volunteers) would still be 6849 fudgsicles or 3424 popsicles per day. They should have called Homer Simpson. Yes. I did the math. [Sigh]

Amitai Etzioni Notes: How crazy can you get?

Cars are just getting way too complicated.

Halifax in August...

So, here we are in Halifax for a couple days. Actually, Christine with a 3-week placement, and I, who supposedly looking for a job, somehow turned it into a mini-vacation :/ Of course, I can always e-mail my resume and apply online, but I was "planning" to visit recruiters in person. Note to self: bring some half-decent threads next time to demonstrate interest to potential employers. At least I can visit some friends while staying here.

Halifax is a sea port on the Atlantic, and the whole surrounding region is dotted with lakes. Most of the water here is blue; quite shocking, really, after living for 3 years in close proximity to the "Chocolate River."

Amazingly enough, I forgot what it's like to be back in a larger city. Home seems even smaller after being around here for a few hours. A bus trip from our home to downtown Moncton takes 5 minutes. Here, the shortest trip from Bedford to Halifax downtown takes 30 minutes (half of it on a freeway), and this not counting the 6-minute drive (or 30-minute suicide walk along same freeway) to get to the park and ride bus terminal. And at the bus terminal everybody knows where they're going (except me). New adventures to be sure.
